Houseplants bring life into the room and can be just what your home needs. But what if you just started with houseplants, and you lack the green thumb to take care of them?
There are a couple of relatively easy to care houseplants. They can be considered low maintenance plants, meaning that these plants are very sturdy and can adjust fairly easy to different conditions. They will not die if you do not water them regularly or if they are in a dark corner, but they will definitely be happier if you take care of them properly.
It is proven that the colour green makes you feel refreshed while inspiring thoughts of positivity and calmness. Therefore bringing more greenery in your home decor is something to consider. The plants in that list are not only easy to take care of but easy to find. Go grab some at your local plant shop and support the small businesses in your area.
Monstera Deliciosa
When talking about houseplants we cannot fail to mention the beautiful Monstera Deliciosa. With its big leaves and fenestrations, it is one of the most prefered houseplants for beginners. When buying a Deliciosa you should consider the space you have. This variety of Monstera can get quite big in the right conditions, so keep this in mind. There are other Monstera varieties that you can check out (Monstera Adansonii, Monstera Peru and so on), however, they might need a little more humidity because of the different leaf shapes.

Light - bright indirect light, avoid direct sunlight
Watering - keep the soil moist not wet, try to avoid overwatering
Temperature - 20–30 °C (68–86 °F)
ZZ Plant (Zamioculcas Zamifolia)
For beginners looking for a tough house plant, the ZZ Plant is a great choice. The ZZ Plant barely notices dryness and low-light conditions. The dark leaves of the ZZ indicate that they manage to absorb the light even from the shadow. It prefers bright indirect sunlight, but it will be fine in the dark corner of your house that needs a little bit of freshness. However, if you would like to see your ZZ thrive, consider placing it somewhere next to a window, but avoid direct sunlight.

Watering - water when the soil dries out

Arrowhead Plant (Syngonium)
Syngonium is easy to care for plant that is well adaptive to indoor environments. There are so many varieties on the market, which makes Syngonium a popular decorative choice. There are varieties with dark-green leaves or green leaves with silvery-white strikes, there are also varieties with pink or cream variegation, making this plant very popular. Syngoniums can be grown in a bush-like form or grown as a trailing plant, it all depends on what you like and how you want to "style" them. They thrive in medium light levels and will be happy wherever you place them.

Rhaphidophora tetrasperma (Mini Monstera)
Rhaphidaphora, contrary to the belief, is not a part of the Monstera family. However, some species from these two families look alike and it's quite impressive. Rhaphidophora tetrasperma plants are easy to care for as indoor plants. They are more compact and they don't grow as massive as some Monsteras. Being a member of the arum plant family (aroid), these plants look attractive in hanging baskets. They enjoy bright light but will also tolerate lower light.

Pothos (Devil's Ivy)
And we kept the best for last. Pothos! All Pothos varieties are some of the sturdiest plants in existence, so sturdy in fact, they are even considered invasive species in some regions of the world. They are one of the best houseplants for beginners as they can thrive in unfriendly conditions. Pothos varieties are trailing plants that only need water on an occasional basis and can survive even the darkest corners of your house*. There are so many varieties that can suit everyone and can be a nice decoration for your space. Pothos can be guided to trail all over a room if that's what you prefer, there are just too many options!
